Finca Buenavista has been a part of the Ordóñez family for over 45 years. José Ordóñez, the father, and his wife, Evelia, began cultivating coffee on this land, starting with Colombia and Caturra varietals. Over the years, they expanded their family to include seven children – six girls and one boy, Jose J. All family members assisted on the farm, inevitably evolving into a thriving family enterprise where each member played a vital role.
Jose J, the son, always harbored a deep passion for coffee quality and processing. After pursuing a degree in business administration, he delved into coffee studies, gaining expertise in growing, processing, cupping, roasting, and milling. He even launched a coffee shop named 'El Mejor Cafe,' featuring his father's image as its logo. Today, Jose J is a certified Q Grader, SCA roaster, and is continually honing his skills to enhance his product. He has introduced a variety of coffee strains on the farm and successfully exports his coffees through CROP DEL MONTE, which exclusively supplies his coffee to Australia.
