Our latest offering from Ethiopia, Grown by various small holders in the Gedio region of Yirgacheffe. The coffee is processed at the Worka Sakaro Washing Station, this lot has undergone additional processing beyond the standardized natural process.

As the specialty coffee market becomes more competitive, unique processing methods have emerged as a way for producers and washing stations to differentiate themselves. One such innovative method gaining popularity is Carbonic Maceration, which was implemented upon this lot.

Farming practices in this region largely follow traditional methods until recent years. Yirgacheffe farmers often grow coffee alongside other food crops, maximizing land utilization and ensuring food for their families. Moreover, most farms in Yirgacheffe are organic by default, with minimal or no use of fertilizers or pesticides. The work on these farms is primarily carried out manually by the farmers and their immediate families.

To take advantage of the excellent climate, the Worka Sakaro Washing Station provides training to farmers, focusing on improving the quality of cherries through proper harvesting and transportation techniques.
